Contingent leaders know that even though they promise to look after your children like their own some of you will worry from the minute you say goodbye to the minute they return home (dirty, tired but very, very happy ). They are also aware that some of the Cubs may be apprehensive too so may offer the option of a "mid week secret", to use mid week or when the "need" arises.
This may vary from something as simple as a handwritten message from parent (s) / sibling (s) through to items such as a packet of their favourite sweets or a favourite snack (not chocolate though, in case it’s warm and melts!) or a small token – this could be anything from a favourite toy from home to a new travel game (nothing electronic or needing batteries though!).
You will need to check with your contingent leader nearer the time if they will be offering this option, and of course it may also depend on space available.
