About CubJam

The aim of Cubjam is to offer Cub Scouts from across the UK the opportunity to join together for a week of "jamboree" style fun, reminding them that they have much in common with each other – no matter their background or where they are from. Cubjam aims to give them a taste of the adventure that lies ahead in years to come.

The wide range of activities offered during Cubjam help the Cub Scouts learn new skills, try new experiences and make new friends. The location also means it is a great way for parents to give their children a bit of freedom to gain their independence in a safe environment.

Cubjam was "born‟ after a Regional Camp held in 2001. From there Bob Cooper and Steve Hall from Hertfordshire Scouts led a team to deliver a "test‟ County Cub Carnival Camp in 2003, Cubjam in 2005 and Cubjam 2009. Cubjam is now recognised by The Scout Association as a locally organised national event (LONE) and is led by Steve Hall as part of Hertfordshire Scouts, assisted by a team of managers from Scouting across the UK.

Here is just a small selection of feedback received by Cubjam organisers after the last event, in 2009.

"I enjoyed my time at Cubjam. It was the best camp I have ever been to and I wish I would stay at Cubjam forever!"
Sadiyah Folami (9)

"I learnt how to sleep the right way on a slope I my tent. I’ve really liked the evening shows at CUBJAM FM because of all the tricks and songs. It’s really FUN."
Luke Dyer (10)

"An excellent event and all the Cubs and Leaders enjoying themselves – long may it last!"
Peter Nicol (Deputy Chief Scout)
