For the past two years we have been working with all members to develop a new vision to ensure that Scouting continues to meet the needs of young people and adults. Together we have now agreed that vision.
A very Scouting Christmas…
While you’re tucking into your turkey tomorrow, 50 Scouts and their leaders from South-East London will be 3,000 miles from home in Kenya, having raised £20,000 to take Christmas to over one hundred Kenyan orphans.
BookBridge – an update
Back in July, we collected over 2,700 books for BookBridge to help set up to new teaching libraries and education centres in Cambodia. Two-Wheeled Superstars
On Sunday 12 of our Scouts joined 29 from across St Helens to take part in the annual district cyclocross competition.
Chariot Race 2011 – 3rd Place!
This weekend six of our Scouts took part in the annual Chariot Race at Bispham Hall Scout Campsite. Out of the 75 competitors, we came 3rd, which is a fantastic achievement, especially given the less-than-brilliant weather.
Cubs on Camp…
Despite the weather… this weekend 12 Cubs went camping at Middlewood campsite in Worsley to complete the Scientist and Naturalist badges. The Cubs were quite sure what it was they enjoyed the most:
14 things to do before you’re 14
Up for a challenge? Scouting is all about fun, challenge and adventure, and we believe that everybody should have the chance to experience them. Now, UK Scouts have come up with a list of the 14 things that we believe every young person should do before they’re 14.

Billinge Cubs have collected over 2,700 books for the charity BOOKBRIDGE, in just two weeks, to help open two new education centres in Cambodia. The books were collected by the Cubs themselves, and in partnership with two local schools – Chapel End Primary School and Hawkley Hall High School.
